Mercer, an eighth grade student, fills his life by playing a role playing board game until an unfriendly know it all posts a column in the local newspaper portraying the board game as demon worship. While facing angry protesters, he also finds four real wizards that need his help to get them back to their world.
Hidden Talents
Martin and his five friends live at Edgeview School because their behavior tends to be uncontrollable. Soon, they realize that it’s not them; it’s their psychic powers that cause them to act strange. As they try to master their powers, they must stop the school bully, Bloodbath from destroying the school.
The Last Olympian
Percy Jackson, a teenage Demi-god, trains each summer at Camp-Halfblood. A camp for other Demi-gods like him. Over the years, an evil Titan lord, Kronos, has been plotting his return of control over the earth. Now, Percy Jackson and an army of Demi-gods must fight evil monster, titans, and Demi-gods to save Olympus from being destroyed.
My topic was special powers. I chose special powers because I like to read about people with unordinary lives. When people have special powes, the story is usually very interesting and different from a lot of other books. after reading my three books, I learned that setting can really affect how strong the voice of the story is. For wxample, in Hidden Talents, Edgeview schools was a perfect setting because it represented a last chance at life, which is exactly what it was for Martin and his friends.
